Faraday to Henry Bence Jones   19 February 1866

[Royal Institution embossed letterhead]

My dear friend

I cannot dissmiss [sic] from my mind the grievous loss you have had had in your dear son1 and though I fear to intrude upon you & his dear mother I cannot let the time go bye without a word of sympathy for you both, ------ but how vain are human efforts to console at such a time.

I am as always | Yours with affection | M. Faraday
