John Tyndall to Jane Barnard   27 June 1866

27th, June, 1866.

My dear Miss Barnard

Your dear uncle in the days of his health was kind enough to take charge of a document for me. He told me that he would seal it up and write upon it “for Dr Tyndall” or some words to that effect, so that in case of his failing it might be delivered up to me. If you, any time that it is convenient to you, would so far imitate his goodness as to secure this document for me I should be truly obliged to you.

It seems I missed Dr Bence Jones by only a short interval on Sunday1. I was exceedingly pleased to learn that he had gone out to see your uncle and I have told him so.

Yours ever sincerely | John Tyndall
