My dear Sir
The kind consideration shewn to me in my failing state of health by the Board of Trade, at the time of the last communication between us, made me feel grateful; & the need of that consideration, at the same time shewed me that I should resign a position the duties of which I was unable to fulfil.
I meant to do so at once, but in consequence of increased illness, my intentions were not carried out, which I regret much. I therefore now request you to have the kindness to lay my resignation before the Board, & at the same time express the feelings of pleasure I have experience during the time of my connection with that Body.
I am Dear Sir | Yours faithfully | M. Faraday
T.H. Farrer Esq | &c &c &c
