John Tyndall to Jane Barnard   11 June 1867

Royal Institution | 11th, June. (1867)

My dear Miss Barnard

I am anxious to make an experiment of your uncle’s on my Friday evening1. He used to lend me in former days a piece of heavy glass for the experiment -- Could you lay your hand upon a piece of the glass and lend it to me? After the lecture I will return it to you.

The experiment requires time and care for its preparation, if therefore you could let me have the piece of glass sometime before this week ends I should be extremely obliged to you.

Yours most truly | John Tyndall
