Faraday to John Barlow   1847 or after

Brighton | Tuesday Morning

Dear Barlow

I do not know that Melloni1 has published any thing about the Rays. What I told Maskelyne2 was that which I heard from Melloni personally but I really forget whether he said he had published any thing. If he has it is perhaps in Il Cimento - an Italian journal which I suppose they have at the Athenaeum, or else perhaps in the Comptes Rendues [sic] where I really believe there is something about it, but I cannot say in what number.

We are getting on pretty well but have bad weather & colds[.]
