Sarah Faraday to Lucy Reid Faraday1   After 1854

[Royal Institution embossed letterhead] | Decr 4th

My dear Lucy

I was pleased & interested to hear all that Gardner2 could tell us of his visit to you & your Grandmother3 & I should much like to take a drive & see you all, but it is more difficult than ever for one to pay visits so I will send my love for the present & tell you what I am writing for particularly just now -

We have a masterful little chopping or cutting mill, which we put the meat into for your uncle, for he has left off his teeth, & we are so much pleased with it that I wish to know whether you have one, & if not I will send one as a little present to your dear Grandmother - with love to her & all of you

I remain your affectionate Aunt | S. Faraday
