John Percy to Faraday   After 1854

[Royal Institution embossed letterhead]

My dear Dr Faraday.

Huxley will deliver one of a series of Physiological Lectures to Working Men at the Museum, Jermyn St. this evening at 8. Should you be disposed to hear him, you have only to ask for Mr Reeks1 the Secretary on entering.

There is a puzzling specimen at the Museum which you may like to examine. It is a mass containing metallic iron embedded in the centre of a large trunk of a tree. Some conjecture that it is meteoric.

Ever yours etc | John Percy

Dr Faraday.

Trenham Reeks (c.1823–1879, B3). Curator and Librarian of the Museum of Economic Geology and Registrar of the School of Mines, 1851–1879.
