Dear Professor Henslow

I am very sorry that I have an engagement which I am afraid will prevent my being able to come down to the Museum tonight as I should have been very glad to have seen you. Mr Thompson, Linnean wishes me to say he will be here at 7 o clock in the hope of meeting you. He is the man to poke about the meeting. He will explain.

Professor Beuthan reads a paper at the Linnean & then Royal also meets at Burlington House. Will you come & dine with me at 1/2 past 6 0 clock & we can then go on to Burlington House together.

I have just given into Mr Thomson's charge a little list from my successors &c.

with Best wishes to Miss Henslow

Believe me

very truly yrs

Edwin Lancester
