To Geological Society 8 September 1836

St Albans

8 Sept 1836

My dear Sir,

I have received a letter dated St Helena from Mr Darwin expressing a wish to be proposed for the Geol. Soc. that he may become a Fellow by the time or soon after his return to England which he expects will be the middle of next month. Will you be so good as to get the requisite No of signatures. Sedgwick wd have signed it (Darwin says) if he were in Town.

Yrs very truly

J. S. Henslow
