From Henry Goulburn 9 September 1845

Downing Street

Sept 9th 1845

My dear Sir

Sir Robert Peel has forwarded to me a note which you had addressed to him relative to the sum payment of the salaries attached to the Cambridge Professorships.

The enclosed memorandum explains the cause of the delay which is in a great degree attributable to the very late period at which owing to the press of other business the Parliamentary votes for miscellaneous services of which the university Professorships form one stem were passed.

Yours ever my dear Sir

Most truly

Henry Goulburn
