My dear Sir,

Have you got a specimen of the "Vegetating Caterpillar" of New Zealand in your Museum? If not, I have just got a duplicate given me, & would put it up for you in a glass tube as I have my own specimens. I mean the Sphaeria Robertsii which attacks & destroys caterpillars & then fructifies out of the scape of their necks. I fear you will think me over importunate if I ask whether you can give me the required hint as to the sort of Book I mentioned. If you think "Lindley's Vegetable Kingdom" not out of place I will get that & send it.

Ever sincerely Yrs

J. S. Henslow

I can send native naphtha & petroleum, if you like, in bottles to accompany Asphalt
