From William Yarrell 11 November 1828

London

11th Novr 1828

Sir,

I am requested by my friend Mr Bennett with whom I have the pleasure to act as one of a subcommittee for the management of the intended commemoration of the Birth of Ray to forward to you three or four circulars containing the names of those gentlemen who have already been kind enough to promise their support on this occasion, and also to enclose to you two directed copies which the committee will feel obliged by your transferring to the individuals thereon named.

I take advantage of this opportunity to transmit to you the latter part of the catalogue of the collection of British Birds belonging to the Philosophical Society. A former part left in the care of Mr Leadbeater has been forwarded. There is still wanting an intermediate part to refer to the cases of small birds, which I shall be very happy to join with Mr Jenyns in producing, according to promise, whenever it may be wanted.

I beg the Society's acceptance of a copy of three short papers on Zoological subjects, and have the honor to be,

Sir

your Obd. Servt.

Wm. Yarrell
