To Charles R. Bree 22 December 1852

Hitcham H. S.

22 Dec 1852 not sent the day proposed

My dear Bree,

You can open this parcel directed to Mr Webb & see what I have said about his specimens - & I have written to him to say it will be retained by you till sent for. I cannot yet feel so perfectly certain as I could wish to be about the position of your Stowmarket shell bed over the Chalk. Are the beds above really Drift or not is the question? It is not to be readily determined I think without a closer inspection.

Ever Yrs truly

J. S. Henslow
