My dear Sir,
A letter from Bowerbank says he made a mistake about the vol. for 1853 which will be forwarded with that for 1854. If you get the tesselated pavement I think it might stand (as such articles do at the British Museum) against the wall in the Lobby. It would then take up very little room. It might be fastened into the wall or supported on a bracket. Seeing that I am always dipping into my pocket on Museum affairs I should volunteer a subscription - but if the local admirers seem over stingy let me know & I will assist. These sort of things are getting daily rarer, & as a local antiquity ought to be greedily seized upon. Do you know anything of a Revd W. Collett who takes or wants to take Indian Boys for education?
Ever yrs truly
