Downing College, Cambridge
27 April 1855
My dear Sir,
I send you a Museum Notice at last - & hope to go on with steadily whilst here, as I have more time than I used to have at my disposal. I also send a rigmarole from some tape-ist & if you think my answer will satisfy but not positively affront him be so good as to let him have it - else you can burn it, & write to him saying that I had forwarded his letter to you. I have written to Mr King to say I have sent a fresh notice - L. Lester Esqr. Downing College Cambridge has forwarded an interesting set of the Purbeck rocks which tally with a list given in a paper on them by Mr Outen & of which I have a copy for the Museum. They can be washed (carefully retaining the Nos for each specimen & when I come to Ipswich I will mount them in clay. There are about 6 specimens which we could not get into the box, which I will bring myself. I send also the amended rules of his Purbeck Club or Society which he tells me has grown rapidly.
Yrs very truly
