My dear Sir,
[In the following text, dots above each item in the original text are denoted in square brackets next to item]
The other communication - tho' ready 3 days ago has been retained for this. I was nearly making a great blunder in miscorrecting the S & T under the System column from observing that these letters had been thus applied (i.e. mis-applied) at the beginning of the Notices to No. 34 - where the Anorthic System had got accidentally omitted & the Oblique had slipped into its letter. You will therefore take care that the letters S & T continue as in the proof & are not struck out as the pen marks would seem to indicate they sd be. At No. 202 the (2) should be higher up at the 2Al2 but I don't know whether they will understand my correction & so mention it to you. At 173 we should have the note of interrogation (?) & not 2! as they have put it. For uniformity the group sd. be headed in Italics Silicates as in former Notices.
It is a pity they have not drawn the vertical line a little more to the left so as to admit of room the Si[2 dots] at 172 to be attached the bracket to which it belongs, instead of beginning another line with it. But this does not so much signify as require it to be now changed.
No 202 sd be thus written, I have confused the corrections
(Na[1 dot], K[1 dot], CA[1 dot])4Si3[2 dots] + 2Al2[3 dots]Si3[2 dots]
Mem. as the whole list is not in, remember the next communication must be given as follows & then the communication sent beginning "As the &c
Yrs truly
