To George Knights 14 June 1855

Hitcham, Bildeston, Suffolk

14 June 1855

My dear Sir,

I shall be glad to see your sample - but I got Mr Claydon of Hadleigh to make one which he said would cost 1/6, & as I thought this would be rather dear, I pointed out a plan by which I conceived they could be made cheaper. He is to enquire of the wire workers who, he thought, might be able to make them cheaper than he could himself. I suspect our Village Blacksmith, if furnish with the wire could make them much cheaper than your workman at Ipswich. When I have your & Claydon's specimens I will look at this

Yrs very truly
