To George Knights 5 August 1855

5 Aug 1855

My dear Knights,

I send you the corrected proof of Mus. Notices & also enclose a list of British plants - which Mr Pope of Bury has sent me marked by an underline --- to such species as he has himself authenticated for Suffolk. It will be as well to mark some list with an (E) or at least to copy off the name he has marked & place them among the archives of the Nat. Hist. Club of the Ips. Mus. till they are wanted. You need not take any notice of my (H) - as I shall be able to give in a separate list of such as I authenticate. I would not be amiss to procure a few copies of such a list as he has sent - or rather the list of more modern date annually published by the Botanical Society of London. I dare say some Ipswich bookseller can tell you where they are procured or if not I can find out. I think they are advertized in the Phytologist.

We all got home safe & sound - tho' I accidentally left Miss H. at Hadleigh supposing she had gone on with my sister. However she followed with the empty hampers & arrived just as I drew up to the door. The people seem uncommonly pleased with the trip - they begin to know how to appreciate an aquatic excursion better than they did. If you will let me know what I owe for the Biscuits I will send a cheque for them & the 36/. charged for the beer (i.e. 1/. per gallon, not - '/10 for some reason not assigned per bill) as soon as I get back for tomorrow I go to Cambridge, Tuesday to London, Wednesday to Essex, & return on Thursday. Friday is our Village School Examination & part of next week I must be in Town again to examine & do not return till Saturday.

Ever yrs truly
