To George Knights 14 December 1855

H.B.S.

14 Dec 1855

My dear Knights,

Return me the enclosed after you have made the necessary memoranda for correcting the list of shells. The 3 fish refer to 3 in my own collection & have nothing to do with the list sent viz. Gnathodon, Arca & Anodon. The Chinese mirror is a humbug in its present state - whether it wd act if better polished I know not. I will ask in London whether such things be. The specimens got back without a single fracture. I forgot to say anything about the Museum. It must come off next time

Very truly yrs
