To George Knights 29 December 1855

Hitcham, Bildeston, Suffolk

29 Dec 1855

My dear Knights,

The enclosed P.O. order has been accidentally made out to the name of James instead of John & therefore I have so signed it. Perhaps you will be so good as to obtain the money for me & pay the I.J. [Ipswich Journal] bill enclosed. I see you have not printed the concluding Notice of No. 34 this week. I hope you got it back in safety. I must try & wind up the Wasps next week. The Chronicle last week gave the Ipswich Leaders a hard rap on the knuckles for preferring Stomach to Brains! I hope it did not offend any one. The French Exposition has sent me a bronze medal (2d Class) for my Fruits & Seeds. I have got specimens of the new Apatite from Mr Lawes. I told Owen to send the Museum fossils direct to Ipswich

Very truly yrs
