My dear Knights,
The specimens of marble from Mr Lester should be thus labelled - in addition to the local names given the several specimens & which he has already placed on them -
Val d'Ossau, Basses Pyrenèes. L. Lester Esqr
He also bids me correct one of his labels which should have been Iris Foncé & not Iris Foncée & if any of the others terminate (in his list) in ée (feminine) they ought to be altered to é (masculine) as the word marbre is masculine & not feminine.
I have told Rigaud of Ld A. H.'s intention - as he wished to invite him to his home. I never saw such a shower of pence from our poor labourers as fell yesterday after my Sermon. The sum total of course not very great, but the manifestation of goodwill specially strong. I suppose I must come over on the 8th to preside, as Ld A. H. seemed to expect this & if I remember rather made it a condition. I am just now sleeping at Bildeston, as my Mother is in a most precarious state & we hardly expect her to rally but I shall go over to Hitcham & will send off the Sack of blocks. Pray save the sack. I find I am attacked for another packing case which I fancied I had sent back viz. that in which (you may recollect) an Item was sent. I suppose my servants neglected to send it back. It is not likely to have got into the Museum [illeg.] I suppose. Don't trouble yourself about it. I merely mention it as a chance. If you Leeman be so good as to tell him my Sister is in such strict attendance on my Mother & is herself so unwell she can't think about the Stuffed Birds just yet - but I will let him know her wishes as soon as may be
Yrs truly
