To George Knights 7 September 1856

My dear Knights,

I have just recd. this Programme. I had not intended to bother you this time. I believe I have enough to do with my Giant Model & some other things we propose exhibiting - so we will reserve the Museum articles for another occasion. Have you not made a mistake in saying you hear we are to have a 1d rate in Oct? I suppose you mean a 1/2d & not the 1/4d. I fear you are not likely to be back by the 17th. I wish you would be here, as I expect Bowerbank who is very likely to give us help in the Museum, & will probably come over to look at it on the 18th with me, & name our Sponges. The President of the British Assoc. is rather premature in holding us up as a model. It is only what we hope to be when the new rate has put us into this position of men who can expatiate in cases & Books necessary to make the Mus. a Show

Yrs very truly

J. S. Henslow

P.S. If not inconvenient will you be so good as to send the enclosed as directed; if not convenient it will not signify any day during the week will do.
