To George Knights 27 September 1856

Hitcham, Bildeston, Suffolk

27 1856 [month missing, worked out from postmark]

My dear Knights

I have only just got back from Derby. Our Barrow was unproductive - but not without interest. I should like to consult a little before deciding about the colour of the paper for types. It strikes me it wd. be a good plan to try a few colours, by merely cutting up some strips of each & sticking some in one case some in another to see the effect. The present colour (sent) I fear might turn out a little too glaring - but there is no knowing till we try.

Very truly yrs
