H.B.S.

My dear Knights,
This paper is not quite so good as that you sent before, being thinner & marked with lines. However it does not so much signify. The balance of evils lies between showing seams at intervals, & showing colour thro' a thin paper - perhaps the latter evil is the worst, if you think the former will not so much signify. You must only be careful to do (what good paperers always do) viz. to lay the seams that the exposed edge is to the light & not from it, as in the latter case a shadow is cast & the seam becomes more apparent

You will have to paste both ways from under the sky-light to effect this. Sir H. K. wrote to say he had sent off the B. H. to my address at the Mus. When it arrives therefore you can unpack it, & be sure to write & thank him, for tho' he gave it to me, I have asked him permission to transfer it to the Mus.
Yrs truly
J. S. H.
I don't expect to be in Ips. before Jan 13.
