My dear Knights
I have received the things you sent by Webb safely - but the fibres &c. have not come to hand. I should like them soon as I have to send off some to Cambridge before I go there on Monday week.
Would you be so good to send me an Impression in Sealing wax of the British Gold pound found at Waldringfield. Both sides. If you see a mistake like that of the Pompeii lava pray don't hesitate about correcting it. Such accidents will happen, but by thinking about each specimen, whether it is in its right place or not, the error need not long be made.
Ever yrs truly
J. S. Henslow
P.S. I forgot whether I sent you Mr Symonds letter before. As he wishes a name on one of his first batch of fossils corrected I send it now, lest it should escape me. I shall like the letter to be returned.
