My dear Knights,
My son going to Ips. tomorrow I have packed up the 2 dogs, Boars hide & Walrus tusk which ought to have gone with the Baboon. In the larger box are 3 Birds of my own - which I want put into cases. One is a well stuffed specimen of a Honey Buzzard. The other 2 are skins of an Apteryx & a Bee-eater. If your stuffer will get these stuffed against I come over, I can then choose cases for all three. You can keep the Honey Buzzard in the close fitting box in which I send it, with a lump of Camphor & I dare say it will take no harm.
Before the lists go to press perhaps I had better first run my eye over them & see that they are properly arranged & headed. Has the Club excursionized this year? I am to convey a dozen of my Village Botanists on Saturday to Gt Waldingfield - a party of above 30 of them attacked Hitcham wood this afternoon. Botany is quite in the ascendant this year. I suppose it is useless to suggest a Village excursion on our old terms to the Railway Authorities. It is a pity they have dropped they were certainly so beneficial to us all. I must be in Town on Friday week to examine. I have so many matters in hand I can't foresee when I can get over
Yrs very truly
