To George Knights 1 August 1857

Hitcham, Bildeston, Suffolk

1 Aug 1857

My dear Knights

Sidney has become President of the Sudbury Institution - & writes for immediate information as to capabilities on my part of exchanging a lecture with him. Another he exchanges with Ld A. H. I have suggested the great convenience of Ipswich, Bury, & Sudbury having lectures on different days of the week, to effect these exchanges. Bury (I think) occupies Tuesday. I suggest Friday for Sudbury, as I believe many at Ipswich wish to see the Market day (Tuesday) not to be the Lecture day, perhaps you can consult the Proper authorities & see whether we can't get some other day - (not Monday as it wd be inconvenient on several accounts) Wednesday is Hadleigh Market & Thursday Stowmarket - but I don't think these considerations need interfere. At all events let me know as soon as you can what days are open to me for 2 lectures & 2 exchanges, & I will arrange accordingly. I hardly know what subject - but I think Botanical Geography will do for 2 or at least 1 - if I can get it ready. If I can't I must fall back upon some old subject which I have not given at Ipswich. We forgot my Stowboxes! There ought to be some Henslovian Corner into which all things should be stowed away which I have to carry off & then these forgets would not occur. L. Jenyns was much pleased with the Museum.

Yrs very truly
