My dear Knights

Your letter today reminded me of the Clown at Astley's who offered to sing any tune the Audience liked - only he knew but one. Sat. Sun. Mon. are impracticable days for Country parsons! Wedns & Friday for Museum Curators!! Tuesday is tabooed!!! Consequently the choice of a day is restricted to Thursday!!!! This will suit me quite as well as Wednesday, only I wish I had known it was my only choice, for I wrote off immediately (yesterday) to Sudbury & Bury to say we had fixed on Wednesdays & that I now only wanted to know what Wednesdays would best interlace with the Mechanics Tuesdays, & I would settle at once for the 2 exchanges. Let me know what Thursdays are to be devoted to lectures & I will undo what I said yesterday & send these instead of the Wednesdays. With Bury on Tuesdays, & Sudbury on Fridays, we shall not be put to it for arranging these exchanges. I must avow Octr as I have both to examine & give a lecture during that month at Cambridge & another lecture at Hadleigh. Have you got the Diagram & Label stands all right yet.

Yrs very truly
