To George Knights 9 July 1857

Hitcham Bildeston Suffolk

9 July 1857

My dear Knights,

L. Jenyns writes word he has sent a packing case to my address at the Museum containing sundry specimens - some for me & some for the Museum. I think it had better not be opened till I come over & I have particular instructions how to unpack some delicate specimens. I find I must come over on 29th to a Pupil Teacher examination - but possibly I may be able to come some day before then - but I hardly foresee when I have so many engagements before me. The Ape is repacked & will be soon packed off - with the rest & a few things I have to send, & which may await my arrival to be duly mounted & labelled. Have you heard about printing the proposed lists of Suffolk specimens which have been sent in? I am sorry you were pulled back so unmercifully from Offton. The evening turned out well & had a large party of Villagers.

Yrs very truly
