My dear Sir
My friend W. Dilke the Editor of the Athenaeum Newspaper is anxious to obtain assistance in reporting the proceeding of the Br. Ass. as reports Botany & Geology. I have named you, and promised to use my endeavours to get you either to do it yourself, or to get it done for him - in a good manner. I enclose his note. His paper is so respectable & he is himself so very good a person that I hope you will be able to suit his wishes. Just send me word.
Yours faithfully
John Lindley
