26 May 1833
Sir
I beg to inform you that I propose to myself the pleasure of attending the Meeting of the British Association to be held in Cambridge.
I should so like to communicate a short paper containing new facts with regard to the structure & offices of the nervous system. If there be time also I would give an account of some parts of the natural history of the Toad & if I can get a model prepared of a new mechanic power discovered by my nephew I shall show it to the Society. My assistant Mr Carlile will intrust to me a paper on the mode of action in the heart which contains many original views.
If you judge it necessary as that I cannot be accommodated at the Inn I shall be much obliged by your securing me a Lodging which need not be large as I shall be quite alone.
I am with highest respect
your Obliged Servant
