My dear Sir
I am much vexed that your order about the Fossil slipes has not been executed long ere this. We certainly understood from Mr Witham he would be too delighted to have these prepared for you, but I fear the omission on our part has been not having written to Mr Witham to send them to you. I have enclosed also the specimens I possess of the sort, but I fear you will think little of them after those of Dr Bartholomew's I shewed you [illeg.]. I have a specimen of Phyteuma orbiculare from our South Downs for your Hortus Siccus & hope you will come to Town to receive it.
Pray remember me to Mrs Henslow & believe me ever Dear Sir
Yours very truly
C. Murchison
