My dear Father

Again do I raise my pen to show that I do not forget you believe me no other motive induces me to write at present for to tell you the truth I have got very little to say.

You told me in your last2 that my mother and Emma were fretting on my account. It has given me much concern to find that I am the cause of any uneasiness to my mother tell her that she wont know me at Christmas. I’m getting so fat and rearing such a fine whisker.

You bid me mention Emma believe me I would have done so in my last did I not feel quite assured that she was as well as she could be. Tell her that while she enjoys such a good appetite as that which she possessed when I left her there can be no fear of her.

You may depend on it that I will give good heed to the advice you gave me in your last. Good people are scarce and I will take care of myself. Remember me to John Mooney

farewell | Your son | John Tyndall

The moment I have any news I will transmit it all to you | Write soon | J.T.
