To Mr John Tyndall Junior, | Wm Steuart Esqr., | Steuart’s Lodge, | Leighlin Bridge, | Ireland.

Zanthe, Greece.1 | 24th February 1842.

Sir,

In reply to your letter reminding me of the promise2 I give you a Testimonial3 of your character and abilities whenever it might be of service to you, I have great pleasure in stating

That I have the very highest opinion of your integrity and good conduct; during the time you were in my Division of the Ordnance Survey of Ireland4 you exhibited the greatest diligence and attention to the duties you were employed on, and became in a very short time a superior Draughtsman and Surveyor.

From my general knowledge of your character I feel assured that you will never discredit the high character I feel myself justified in giving of you and that you will honourably acquit yourself to your future employers whoever they may be.

I am, Sir, | Your most obedient servant | GEO. WYNNE
