From Charles Mackay   June 25th1

22 Brecknock Crescent | Camden Road Villas | June 25th

My dear Sir,

I should have been glad to see you before your departure from town. The competition in London for all kinds of literary employment is very great – and it is only by being on the spot – and by being very active, very patient, and very persevering that anything can be done. – I know one gentleman (who however has not the direct means of being of service) to whom I would have been glad to introduce to you – Mr Little of the Illustrated London News,2 who has lately been engaged, I believe in similar investigations to your own. I will show him your letter on the first opportunity. Let me know your doings from time to time – and if you are in London be sure to call. I leave town in a few days for Birmingham and Liverpool – but letters addressed to me at home will be duly forwarded.

With best wishes for your success in all your undertakings

Believe me | Yours very sincerely | Cha. Mackay.

John Tyndall Esq.
