Lee Road, | 21 Oct. 1851.
My dear Sir,
Many thanks for your note1 and the paper2 and the testimonials.3 I hope you will obtain your desire at Toronto. I have read the paper briefly, but must do so again: at present I am writing, or rather copying, a paper on lines of force, which touches the point of Polarity, so that it is only hereafter I shall be able to collate all together. I propose giving the paper in to the Royal Society today.4
Ever truly yours, | M. Faraday.
Dr. J. Tyndall, | &c. &c. &c.

the testimonials: only a week previously (letter 0548) Tyndall had asked Francis to print additional copies of the testimonials. They were printed, despatched to Tyndall by Francis, a set sent to Faraday, and Faraday replied, all within seven days.
paper on lines of force … today: Faraday, ‘ERE 28’, was dated 9 October 1851, received 22 October, read 27 November and 11 December.
