RI MS JT/1/S/5

the enclosed: letter 0571.

your note: missing. From letter 0560 (22 November) it appears that Tyndall was concerned at the cost of the FRS. He must have written to Sabine almost immediately, on either 22 or 23 November, suggesting delaying the nomination. His concerns, however, were rapidly allayed and when he received this pair of letters from Sabine he continued the nomination process (Journal, 27 November, JT/2/13b/552).
