I have written to lady Clancarty, I did not say much, because I believed my husband to be writing at the same time, but he does not think it necessary, and with the testimonials, my letter will do.

[1852]: Tyndall received this letter on 6 July 1852 (Journal, JT/2/13b/573).
your testimonials: the testimonials that Tyndall had collected in 1851 for the Toronto application, plus some additions gathered for his application for the position in Queen’s College, Galway. Among those Tyndall asked for testimonials was G. G. Stokes (see letter 0643). LT noted that Tyndall also received testimonials from Sylvester and Baden Powell (LT ‘Biography’, pp. 510–11).
