[21 July 1852]: a trip to the Isle of Wight was recorded in Tyndall’s journal entries for 22–5 July 1852 (JT/2/13b/577–80). He spent three days on the island. He must have written this letter on Wednesday, 21 July, the day before he left for his excursion.
