My dear Francis.

I send you back the preface2 with the modifications which I would propose. – They are very slight as you will see and refer to the first and last paragraphs exclusively.

I also return the Prospectus – Huxley I doubt not will feel inclined to kick me when he is locally near enough to permit of his boot-toe reaching me. The remarks I have to make on the prospectus are on the margin. The title I would alter thus

You must remember I am [invincibly] ignorant on all these practical matters – I state my opinion bare & naked and you must take it for what it is worth.

I shall be with you shortly after you receive this letter as I intend to start from here in good time on monday morning. till then dear Francis goodbye
