From George Wynne   29th Oct 1852

Board of Trade | 29th. Oct. 1852.

My dear Tyndall

I was sorry to see today in the paper1 that the Professorship in the Galway College has been filled up, Mr Stoney appears to have had Lord Rosse’s2 interest and that was too powerful to contend against, otherwise I think there would have been little doubt of your success. Your application with the testimonials brought forward will pave the way in the event of another vacancy occurring. Mrs Wynne will be greatly disappointed when I tell her this evening on my return home of your having failed in Galway,

most sincerely yours | Geo Wynne
