My dear Francis;

I send you the proof of Wartmann2 – The 1st paper was read at the Society of Physics & Natural History – I don’t know whence it is taken3 – Acerdèse must only be let stand4 – Debus started this morning to Manchester – I will send the proof after him – I am on the point of starting to [Andover] where I must lecture tonight.5 – I shall probably be off to Manchester tomorrow6 – Sometime next week I shall make my appearance before you.7

to Manchester tomorrow: Tyndall travelled to Manchester on 24 December and stayed until 31 December (Journal, JT/13b/593).

my appearance before you: Tyndall saw Francis while visiting London, 2–8 January 1853 (Journal, JT/13b/594–5).
