To Hector Tyndale   5th April 1854.

5th April 1854.

My dear Cousin

It gratifies me exceedingly to learn that you are in England and that I am likely to see you. My address is 9 Chadwell Street Myddelton Square Islington – but you will be more likely to find me at the Institution (in Albemarle Street) than at my lodgings. I have often thought of you during the last half year and waited only for a peaceful opportunity to write to you again. But I am rejoiced to find that the necessity of writing is, for the present at least, to be superseded by the sound of your voice and your own visible presence before me. One thing I cannot help regretting and that is my inability to offer you a bed, being prevented from doing so by the family arrangement of the people1 in whose house I live. I am going into the Country today or tomorrow2 – as my head is in rather a weak condition. On next Wednesday (this day week) I shall be back again and hope to find a note informing me when I may expect you – till then

Believe me | most truly yours | John Tyndall
