From Heinrich Gustav Magnus   20 Juni 54

Berlin 20 Juni 54.

Theurer Freund

Berlin 20 June 54.

Dear friend,

I regret that the polytrope1 for Mr. Gassiot is not finished yet and another 3 weeks will pass until I receive it.2 If you need the stair climber and the [mice] sooner, then I shall send them to you directly through Asher. I shall send for them from Reichel3 in any case, so that I can have them packed at once as soon as I receive your reply. – You will surely know how you can be shown what is to be done. The undertaking4 will certainly become advantageous in a pecuniary respect as well, and will keep you familiar with the whole of physics at the same time.

Let me hear soon whether you have resolved upon the undertaking. I shall only advise you not to make it too extensive.

Sincerely | Yours | GMagnus

P.S. Apologise to Mr. Gassiot for the long absence of the polytrope, I have so fallen out with Barreaud about it, that I shall hardly have any work done by him again. But I do not know how to get it finished.
