To Emil du Bois Reymond   Monday

Monday

My dear DuBois

If you are not better engaged will you dine with me on Thursday à la Luther & Wegner1 (but not half so good) at Anderton’s Hotel2 Fleet Street at a quarter before 6 o/c. It is quite near Red Lion Court. We can afterwards walk to the Royal Society3 together if you like. I hope Mrs Dubois4 will pardon this attempt to bring you back to your bachelor habits. On Wednesday I trust you will allow me the pleasure of paying my respects to her – Till then I shall be dabbling in all sorts of chemical pollution.

Ever Yours | John Tyndall
