From Edward Hughes   13th Oct. 1855.

Greenwich Hospital | 13th Oct. 1855.

My dear Sir,

I shall feel greatly obliged to you if you will let me know whether you have done anything towards the article for the 3rd. Book1 viz ‘Undulatory Motion and Sound’ I am under the impression that after I wrote to you from Edinburgh2 you commenced the ‘Article’ and I trust by this time it is completed, as the sale of the first two Vols. encourages me to bring out the Third Vol. immediately – I have all the Articles for this Vol. in type except yours and Dr. Frankland’s.

I enclose a re-set-up of the ‘Broad Sheet’ from which you will see that there are no less than 25 different contributors to the first two Vols.3 Your wishes expressed in your last note4 shall be attended to – hoping to hear from you shortly

Believe me | Yours faithfully | E. Hughes.

Dr. Tyndall, F.R.S.
