To Julia Moore   26th June 1856

26th June 1856

Dear Miss Moore

I have felt myself compelled to move from London to give myself a week’s rest, so that I shall not be able to grant myself the great pleasure of meeting you and your guests on Saturday.1 The deep quiet of this place2 contrasted with the roar of London is extremely refreshing. I hope to return in a week a new man and then to attack my work with tough muscles and a clear brain.

Believe me | Ever yours | John Tyndall.
