10th July 1856
Dear Mr Babbage
I have long been under a promise to go to Wimbledon,1 and Saturday (if it be fine) is the only available day this week. Do you think you can come? If so I should be glad to wait upon you at any hour or place you may appoint, and accompany you by foot, omnibus, cab, or railway as it may suit your pleasure.
Most truly yoursJohn Tyndall
