Olveston | 9 January
My dear Sir,
I think these questions will do perfectly.2
Will you allow me to take the opportunity of consulting you on a scientific question?
In a paper of mine3 in the Proceedings of the Royal Society, on the descent of Glaciers, I have quoted from the Annales de Chimie4 the results of some Russian experiments5 on the expansion of ice. The results only are there given, reference being made for particulars of the experiments to ‘Archiv. f. Wissenchaftl Kunde v. Russland, Bd. VII, S. 333’.
Are you acquainted with the particulars of any experiments on this subject? Or can you put me in the way of procuring the volume here referred to, or of seeing it?
Yours truly | Henry Moseley.

these questions will do perfectly: presumably this letter is a reply to Tyndall’s reply (missing) to Moseley’s letter of 7 January (1313).
