My dear Mr. Tindal1
Many thanks for your escort to the glaciers.2
I have read the lecture3 with great interest and in the summer I trust I may remind you of your kind promise to repeat for me some of the experiments.
I omitted when I met you last in Clarges St.4 to say what I particularly intended to say how much pleasure your present5 had given Walter.6 When he was unwell, it was what amused him most, and he congratulated himself over and over again upon being the possessor of an apparatus.—
‘Marianne’ (to the nurse)7 ‘bring me my apparatus: Mama, is it not grand for me to have a real apparatus’?
Yours most truly | Juliet Pollock
